Honey Bees

In our region, Bees pose a serious threat. This threat is due to the mere fact that Africanized Honey Bees like to call our desert climate “home.”

Africanized Honey Bees, also known as killer Bees, can produce honey fast. It is because of this that they are also referred to as “super Bees.” They are brown and orange with small yellow hairs.

These particular Bees often nest in places close to the ground. Colonies of Africanized Honey Bees tend to break off and swarm a considerable amount each year. This species is dangerous and causes several deaths each year.

The reason for this is because of their stinging capabilities. When one Bee from a colony stings you, it puts out a pheromone that tells the other Bees in the colony that you are a threat. The other Bees will then attack you all at once.

Our warm Arizona temperatures and unique landscape are much alike to Africa. It is because of this that Africanized Honey Bees have made Tucson their home. If you have come across Bees on your property, do not try to get rid of them yourself. Bee control Tucson should be performed by a pest control professional.

If you are experiencing a problem with Bees or have questions about Bee control Tucson, call Essential Pest Control for affordable bee control services.
